Alpha makes 1.09 bln bond swap offer to boost capital

Following Piraeus Bank a few days ago, Alpha Bank announced on Wednesday a voluntary exchange of 1.09 billion euros (nominal value) outstanding bonds.

As we noted two weeks ago, the market has been expecting Greek banks to conduct such voluntary bond exchange offers to reduce the capital shortfall that will arise from the comprehensive assessment conducted by the ECB’s Single Supervisory Mechanism (SSM).
