New Democracy is expected to hold a leadership contest later this year as the conservatives look to bounce back from a disappointing showing in Sunday’s elections.

The party saw its share of the vote increase slightly to 28.1 percent from 27.8 percent in January but the number of voters decreased by almost 200,000 to 1.52 million.
