Turnover in tourism sector edges down 1.1 pct in Q2

The Turnover Index in Accommodation and Food Services slipped again in the second quarter (Q2) of 2016, albeit at the notably slower pace of 1.1 percent from a downward revised drop of 11.2 percent in Q1, Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) figures displayed on Tuesday.

In addition, the headline figure for Q2 is the first negative reading since Q2 2012, when the index declined by 20.8 percent. Last year, the turnover index rose by 8.6 percent in Q2.
