Greece’s banks have started what was set to be a difficult year for them by winning plaudits for their progress towards meeting tough goals for reducing the stock of non-performing exposures.

Last week Moody’s raised the outlook for Greek banks to “positive” on prospects of further reducing their bad-loan exposure with more securitizations, as well as gradually improving profitability in 2021-2022.
