Hotel guest numbers up 8.7 percent in 2014
The arrivals of foreign visitors in hotels and other facilities such as campsites as well as the number of nights they stayed increased by 8.7 and 5.5 percent, respectively, in 2014, according to official annual tourism data (pdf).
Figures from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) showed that in 2014 a total of 17.7 million people booked into hotels and campsites, compared to 16.3 million in the previous year.
