The track record of public consultations in Greece leaves much to be desired in terms of public engagement and transparency, according to a study commissioned by a leading environmental think tank. The findings suggest that a culture of top-down policy making persists beneath a thin veneer of adherence to European norms, giving the public little voice in key decisions.

The report published by The Green Tank analyses the data from 12 years of public consultations through the OpenGov platform, consisting of 877 consultations and 64,386 comments from the public, accompanied by a public awareness survey.
