In the most public display of dissent within the government since New Democracy came to power in the summer of 2019, former prime minister Antonis Samaras has voiced his disagreement with the policy being followed by current Premier Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Greek-Turkish relations.
Samaras’s intervention came via an interview with Kathimerini on Sunday, just a day before the latest round of exploratory talks between Athens and Ankara was due to begin after a hiatus of almost five years.
