Move to legislate on climate change offers opening to bolster environmental laws

Greek political parties took a step towards creating the first national climate change legislation in a special joint committee session in Parliament on Tuesday.

The context for the legislation is the EU-level agreement on new climate goals under the banner of “Fit for 55 pct”, which calls for a 55 pct reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
