The government’s hopes of emphasising its political dominance and other achievements as it reaches its mid-term are being derailed by the latest Covid developments in Greece.

Health authorities announced almost 1,800 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, casting new doubt on whether this summer will allow the kind of relaxation and economic activity that New Democracy had been targeting.
