MEP takes comfortable lead over former PM in advance of KINAL leadership run-off
Nikos Androulakis, a moderate MEP from Crete with no prior experience in national government, is emerging as the clear favourite to win the second round of voting for the leadership of third party Movement for Change (KINAL).
Androulakis, who won the first round with a comfortable 10-point lead, faces former PM George Panandreou in the run-off on Sunday. The MEP gained 99,120 votes in the first round (36.8 pct) compared to 75,183 (27.9 pct) for the ex-premier.
