Alarming new data on the spread of the Omicron variant in Greece has led the government to announce a new raft of restrictions for after the new year holiday.

The new measures, which put limits on nightlife and sporting events, and increase remote working, have provoked angry reactions from businesses, but have been criticised by opposition parties as irresponsible and misguided.
