Wednesday’s mass demonstrations across Greece suggest that New Democracy can expect to see a hit to its poll ratings as the aftermath of the deadly rail accident at Tempe continues to unfold.

The government meanwhile came in for more criticism on its rights record after snubbing a visit from the European Parliament’s Civil Liberties Committee.
