An official visit to Athens by the President of the European Parliament Roberta Metsola gave Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis an occasion to hit back at the recent resolution passed by European lawmakers expressing concerns about the rule of law in Greece.
Opposition parties were critical of the lack of an opportunity to discuss the resolution on a day which saw the inquiry into the deadly Tempe rail accident draw to an acrimonious close.
