Waning support in opinion polls generates concern for government

Two more opinion polls published on Thursday have provided further cause for concern in the ranks of the ruling New Democracy party, especially as one shows the centre-right grouping’s projected support dropping by around 5 percentage points.
The Metron Analysis poll for Mega TV shows that 24.6 pct of respondents intend to vote for New Democracy at the European Parliament elections in June, which is around 4 points lower than in the poll conducted by the same company a month ago.
