The publication of the European Commission’s annual Rule of Law report has been welcomed by government officials, who describe it as a validation of the administration’s reforms and a response to its critics at home and abroad.

At the same time, however, fresh survey findings highlight the widespread perception of corruption in public institutions among the Greek public.
