The controversial Supreme Court decision to shelve an investigation into potential government involvement in the use of spyware and illegal surveillance has been questioned in an article by the head of the communications privacy watchdog.

The intervention has been seized on by opposition party SYRIZA to pledge to pursue future charges against officials involved in issuing phone tapping orders.
