Androulakis well-placed to retain PASOK leadership as Doukas sneaks into run-off ballot

Incumbent Nikos Androulakis and Athens Mayor Haris Doukas will battle it out for the PASOK leadership next Sunday after this Sunday’s first round almost produced a surprise result.
Androulakis was the favourite to win Sunday’s vote, according to the opinion polls. And the Cretan politician lived up to expectations by taking 29.6 pct of the 302,233 votes cast.
