Mitsotakis dangles carrot of more tax cuts as SYRIZA heads for leadership vote

Following a turbulent few days, prompted by the ousting of former Prime Minister Antonis Samaras from the ruling New Democracy party, it was no surprise that the current PM, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, should conclude the week by dangling the promise of further tax cuts in front of voters.
Speaking on Thursday at an event organised by the Finance Ministry and the Independent Authority for Public Revenues (IAPR), Mitsotakis indicated that there could be more reductions in line for the middle class in 2026 and 2027.
