Opposition parties continue to question PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s selection of veteran New Democracy politician who was elected President on Wednesday, arguing that it goes against the spirit of consensus. The shared mood of defiance has not proven enough to bind the parties of the left, suggesting that they are far from forming a united front to challenge New Democracy.
