The government appears to be tempering its rhetoric ahead of the strikes and protests planned for Friday, coinciding with the second anniversary of the deadly Tempe train crash, which almost six in 10 Greeks say they are considering attending.
After several days of going on the attack against its critics, including the relatives of the 57 victims, the New Democracy administration seems to be taking a step back, toning down its language and trying to defuse what has become a very tense situation.
