Fresh inquiry looms as file on farming subsidy investigation reaches Parliament

New Democracy has a new battle on its hands, as Parliament prepares to review the criminal investigation file into fraud at Greece’s EU agricultural payments agency by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, naming several lawmakers, including two former agriculture ministers from the governing party.
Opposition parties are set to demand a preliminary inquiry into criminal charges levelled in the file against a total 15 members of Parliament named in the prosecutor’s file, 13 of whom belong to the governing party.
