New Democracy passed its proposal for an ordinary parliamentary inquiry into the OPEKEPE scandal following a stormy debate, leaving the opposition to conduct a largely ceremonial debate on alternative proposals targeting two former ministers with criminal charges.
Opposition lawmakers are accusing the governing party of orchestrating a cover-up of the farming payments scandal which has led to a slide it its ratings.
