Opposition lines up attack on government over wildfires with visits to affected areas

Opposition parties are preparing to lift their unofficial moratorium on criticising the government for its handling of several serious wildfires which left a tail of devastation across different parts of the country since the start of August.

Party delegations are paying visits to the worst-hit areas to assess the damage and talk to victims in a bid to draw attention to what they claim is poor central planning and preparation and a lack of government support for local communities.
