Despite lukewarm reaction, PM insists tax cuts will pave way to third term

A week after unveiling a package of tax cuts he described as the most radical shake-up in half a century, PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis has reiterated his intention to stay at the helm of New Democracy and the government, appearing confident that voters will appreciate the benefits gradually on the way to elections in 2027.

The latest poll assessing the impact of the PM’s announcements at the Thessaloniki Fair suggests that New Democracy still has some distance to cover to win a general election outright, and that voters are split in their assessment of the announcements.
