Kyriakos Mitsotakis returned from his appearance at the United Nations General Assembly last week feeling that he had burnished Greece's diplomatic contacts with a range of countries and had stated the country's case clearly vis a vis its ongoing disputes with Turkey, making the trip a success despite the cancellation of his scheduled meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
At home, though, opposition parties criticised Mitsotakis's UN speech and his overall stance during his diplomatic exchanges and public appearances in New York, feeling that they did little to enhance Greece's alliances and standing on the global stage.
