The government moved on two fronts on Monday, announcing a 300-million-euro package of targeted support measures while simultaneously approving a 5-billion-euro defence programme designed to strengthen Greece’s deterrent posture amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

The dual track reflects the administration’s attempt to reassure a public anxious about rising prices and regional instability, even as the latest polls show New Democracy maintaining a solid lead despite widespread unease.
