Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou hailed a historic moment for Greece’s energy security at the signing of an agreement that could see the first offshore drilling in the country’s waters in over four decades.
The signing between the consortium of Exxon Mobil, Energean and Helleniq Energy, which holds the concession on Block 2 in the northwest Ionian Sea, and Stena Drilling marks the first concrete step towards exploratory drilling in the Assopos 1 location.
