Greece’s long‑running wiretapping scandal returned to the centre of political life on Monday after the Supreme Court prosecutor decided not to reopen the Predator spyware case, despite a lower court’s explicit request for further investigation into possible espionage offences and additional suspects.

The ruling has ignited fierce political confrontation, raised questions about institutional independence and prompted the opposition to pursue new parliamentary avenues to keep the affair alive.
