As preparations continue for the New Democracy party congress next week, PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis hopes that a meeting of his parliamentary group will provide an outlet for the mounting criticism of his leadership. The prime minister plans to use a debate on constitutional reform to refocus the party’s energies and restore unity ahead of elections.
In recent days, lawmakers from the ruling New Democracy party have taken aim at Mitsotakis's inner circle over what they describe as an over-concentration of power in the PM's office that marginalises elected representatives.
