The government is stepping up its efforts to demonstrate that it is easing the financial burden on Greek households, as the second part of the latest ALCO poll painted a stark picture of economic insecurity.

Nearly half of respondents say their financial situation has worsened over the past year, while one in two Greeks will not take a summer holiday - a clear sign of the pressure on disposable income and the cost of living.
