The reverberations from the launch of ex-PM Alexis Tsipras’s new party ELAS continue to be felt across the political landscape. While New Democracy retains a strong lead, it will need to mobilise apathetic or undecided supporters to approach an absolute majority.
Two new opinion polls confirm that ELAS (Greek Left Alliance) has established itself as a force to be reckoned with, gaining ground against New Democracy (ND) and overtaking PASOK as the main opposition.
