New Democracy finds itself in a state of unrest after its election defeat on Sunday, with former leader Kostas Karamanlis taking an increasingly central role in developments.
Karamanlis has met with a number of top conservative officials since Monday. On Friday, he held talks with ex-Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, who stood against current party president Antonis Samaras in the 2009 leadership contest.
