Tsipras seeks fair exchange with EU over migrant crisis
The visit of Austrian Chancellor Werner Faymann to Greece on Tuesday and the tour of Lesvos he conducted with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras gave Athens the opportunity to state its case for more EU assistance to tackle the refugee crisis and to argue that criticism from other member states is unjustified.
The leaders’ joint visit to a refugee camp on the eastern Aegean island gave Tsipras the chance to repeat his mantra that “the problem is not Greek but European and we must tackle it together.”
