Prime Minister and Alexis Tsipras and New Democracy leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis appear to see the victory of Emmanuel Macron in France’s presidential election as a potential boost for their political hopes.
Tsipras tweeted shortly after it emerged that Macron had beaten far-right rival Marine Le Pen by 66 to 34 percent that the centrist politician’s victory was a “breath of fresh air for France and the whole of Europe.”
