Mitsotakis steps up pressure on voters to avoid July 7 letdown
Opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis has increased the pressure on voters to back his party on July 7, warning that if there is not a clear outcome, a second vote may have to be held in mid-August, spoiling Greeks’ holidays.
Mitsotakis’s comment is the latest attempt by New Democracy to underline the importance of a high turnout next month. The biggest threat to clear parliamentary majority for the centre-right party appears to be a low turnout.
