Key Greek election date firms up; turnout could prove crucial

The date for what is certain to prove one of this year’s watershed moments has been set: the European Parliament elections and the second round of voting in Greece’s local polls will take place on May 25.
It had initially been thought that the European elections would coincide with the first round of voting in the local polls but Interior Minister Yiannis Michelakis confirmed over the weekend that the government was seeking to change this.
