Unemployment rate drops to 12.1 pct in June, lowest since before first MoU

Greece’s seasonally adjusted (SA) unemployment rate de-escalated further in June, falling to 12.1 percent from 12.5 percent in May, Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) data showed on Wednesday.

In June last year, the unemployment rate was 15 percent, although last year’s figure was affected by methodology issues related to government support programmes that protected jobs or placed employees on furlough schemes.
