Despite consecutive monthly drops, energy drives up Aug CPI by 11.4 pct
Greece’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) remained elevated in August, rising by 11.4 percent year-on-year, marginally slowing from the 11.6 percent in July, according to the data released on Friday by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT).
The average CPI for the rolling 12-month period increased by 7.9 percent, from 7.1 percent in the previous month. Month-on-month, the CPI dropped by 0.3 percent, after falling by 1.8 percent in July.
