Data for 2022 confirms tourism's full recovery, with nearly 30 mln visitors
The Bank of Greece released on Tuesday the summary travel data for 2022, re-affirming that last year came close to recovering all losses suffered from the pandemic with travel receipts reaching 17.68 billion euros, just half a billion short of the 18.18 billion euros earned in 2019.
This came after a collapse to 4.32 billion euros in 2020, and an only partial recovery of receipts in 2021 with 10.5 billion euros. This is a significant overperformance from the Finance Ministry’s assumption for last year’s budget that 2022 would fetch...
