Reflecting base effects, foreign market and manufacturing drive industrial turnover down sharply in May
Greece’s industrial turnover went deeper into negative territory in May, contracting by 13.6 percent year-on-year (YoY), from an upwards revised drop of 7.6 percent in April, according to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Thursday.
This is the first back-to-back recorded drop since early 2021. April was the first negative reading since February 2021. The index has also been recording much more modest growth rates in recent months.
