Drop in energy pushes import prices down by 4.3 pct YoY in Aug
Greece’s import price index remained in contraction in August, accelerating to 4.3 percent year-on-year (YoY), after a 1.6 percent drop in July, according to data released by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) on Tuesday.
The index recorded more than one year of consecutive negative readings, however, import prices had been on the rise since March this year. This is the first back-to-back drop since February.
