The recent upgrade of Greece’s credit rating by Moody’s to investment grade highlighted the difficulties that Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his administration have had in building traction for the government’s economic record with the Greek public.

Moody’s upgrade completes the cycle of all leading rating agencies placing Greece in the investment grade category. This came after a long effort that spanned years since 2012 when GGBs were placed on selective default after its debt haircut deal.
