Greece announced this week that it intends to continue the debt prepayment strategy that the Public Debt Management Agency (PDMA) has employed since 2019, with another prepayment of 4.7 billion euros to take place before the end of the year.

The payment will cover 2.5 billion of loans from the EFSF and 2.2 billion of a bond held by Greek banks that matures next year. The EFSF amount covers payments due in 2027 and 2028.
