CPI drops by 0.9 pct in August

Τhe Greek Consumer Price Index (CPI) fell at a slightly slower pace of 0.9 percent in August, after dropping by 1 percent in July, Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) data displayed on Friday.
In contrast, the harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP) edged up for the third straight month by 0.4 percent in August from 0.2 percent in July. Along with the December 2015 figure, the August HICP indicates the highest reading since October 2012.
