Budget primary surplus reaches 1.78 bln in July, almost double target
The budget primary surplus reached 1.78 billion euros in the first seven months of 2019, compared to a surplus of 926 million in the same period last year, preliminary budget execution data from the Finance Ministry (MoF) showed on Friday.
The primary surplus is comfortably outperforming in the year to date by 2.78 billion euros against a target of a deficit of 803 million. Primary expenditure came to 26.82 billion euros.
