The leader of Greece’s main opposition party says he is confident that he can pull together a coalition of “progressive cooperation” after just one round of voting under a proportional representation system.
With opinion polls showing SYRIZA trailing New Democracy by just a few points, leader Alexis Tsipras has been trying to persuade voters that he can deliver a credible government without the strong majority outcome sought by his conservative opponent.
