Government on alert again as farming subsidy probe zeroes in on two ex-ministers

The government had been hoping that Wednesday’s vote in Parliament on the preliminary inquiry into former transport minister Kostas Karamanlis over the Tempe affair would provide the ruling conservatives with some breathing space but they are now facing the possibility of two other ministers being probed in connection to a farming subsidy scandal.
