The government is set to admit defeat in its strategy for containing Covid-19 as health data continues to cause concern and new measures are set to be announced to rein in the virus.

Although the coronavirus numbers have been worrying for several days, prompting discussions about whether the existing lockdown in Athens and other parts of Greece is sufficient, it appears that Tuesday’s figures have forced the government’s hand.
