A surprise mini reshuffle at the start of the new year suggests Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis wants to draw a line under the criticism his government has received on issues such as law and order and move forward with flagship reforms in the health sector.

The appointments announced on Wednesday were prompted by a change of guard in the Ministry of Citizen Protection, which has had a domino effect on the departments of Health, Labour and Pensions and Education.
