Opposition takes aim at cost of living

With the cost of living continuing to be named by Greek voters as their top concern, the main opposition party SYRIZA has tabled draft legislation aimed at suppressing inflation and tackling profiteering.

The bill, which was submitted to Parliament on May 1 to coincide with May Day holiday, includes a series of short-, medium- and long-term measures which the leftist party says will establish a “new normal” for Greek society in line with European norms.
